Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about Steadybeat.
Before You Start
Steadybeat uses official APIs for publishing. This requires your accounts to meet certain requirements.
Steadybeat can only publish to Facebook Pages, not personal profiles. This is a Meta API limitation that applies to all social media tools.
If your business uses a personal profile, create a free Facebook Page:
1. Go to facebook.com/pages/create
2. Choose page type (Business or Brand)
3. Fill in basic info
4. Done! You can now connect the page to Steadybeat.
Instagram publishing requires a Business or Creator account linked to a Facebook Page.
Switch to a Business account:
1. Open Instagram → Settings → Account
2. Select 'Switch to professional account'
3. Choose Business or Creator
Link the account to your Facebook Page (this is now done from the Facebook side):
1. Open Meta Business Suite (business.facebook.com) or your Facebook Page settings
2. Go to Settings → Linked accounts
3. Select Instagram and click 'Connect account'
4. Log in with your Instagram credentials and confirm
Personal Instagram accounts cannot be published to via the API.
YouTube publishing requires a YouTube channel linked to your Google account.
If you don't have a channel:
1. Go to youtube.com
2. Click your profile picture → 'Create a channel'
3. Follow the instructions
4. You can now connect the channel to Steadybeat.
Publishing to LinkedIn requires a company Page you administer (admin role). You can't publish to personal profiles via the API.
If you don't have a company Page, create one at linkedin.com/company/setup/new. When you connect LinkedIn to Steadybeat, pick the Pages you administer.
TikTok and X don't require a business page or a separate account. A regular account works as is.
TikTok: every post must include an image or a video. You choose the post's visibility (public, followers, only me) in Steadybeat when publishing.
X: a post can be text only, or text with an image. The maximum length is 280 characters.
Facebook and Instagram don't allow publishing to personal profiles via API. Meta removed this capability for security reasons (to prevent spam and abuse).
This limitation applies to all social media tools, not just Steadybeat. Hootsuite, Buffer, Later and others work the same way.
Solution: Create a Facebook Page for your business (free) and switch to an Instagram Business account.
Account Management
1. Log in to Steadybeat
2. Go to Dashboard → Accounts tab
3. Click 'Connect Facebook & Instagram'
4. Log in to your Facebook account
5. Select the pages you want to manage
6. Accept the requested permissions
Steadybeat automatically discovers Instagram Business accounts linked to your Facebook Pages.
If you already have connected pages and want to add a new one:
1. Go to Dashboard → Accounts tab
2. Click 'Reconnect Facebook & Instagram'
3. Facebook shows all pages you are an admin of
4. Select ALL pages you want to manage (including previously connected ones)
5. Accept permissions
The new page will appear in your accounts list. You can now publish to it.
Note: You must be an admin of the page for it to appear in the list.
If the new page doesn't appear, Meta restored your previous selection. Its dialog says 'This will re-establish your previous settings'. Choose 'Edit settings' there and tick the new pages. Try this before removing the app in your Facebook settings.
Yes. Steadybeat supports multiple accounts simultaneously. In the publish view, you can select which pages and accounts to publish to.
Each Facebook Page can have its own linked Instagram Business account. Both are connected automatically when you connect a Facebook Page.
Facebook/Instagram connections expire after about 60 days. Steadybeat shows a warning when the connection is expiring.
To reconnect:
1. Go to Dashboard → Accounts tab
2. Click 'Reconnect Facebook & Instagram'
3. Select the same pages as before
4. Accept permissions
Reconnecting does not remove previous posts or settings.
If reconnecting doesn't work or pages don't appear, try resetting the connection:
1. Go to facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools
2. Find Steadybeat and click 'Remove'
3. Reconnect from Steadybeat
1. Go to Dashboard → Accounts tab
2. Click 'Connect YouTube'
3. Log in to your Google account
4. Select your channel and accept permissions
YouTube connections last about 6 months before they need to be renewed.
Go to Dashboard → Accounts and click the platform's 'Connect' button. Log in and approve the permissions.
TikTok and X work with a normal account. LinkedIn needs a company Page you administer. Pick the Pages you manage when connecting.
Users and invites
On Basic, only the owner fits. Pro has five seats total, owner included. The trial gives you Pro seats, so inviting works before you buy a subscription.
An open invite takes up a seat as soon as it goes out. If seats are full, remove a user or a pending invite, or move to a bigger plan.
Go to Settings → Users and type a name in the Company name field. Only the owner can change it; a member sees it.
The name appears in invitation emails so the recipient knows whose invite they got. It's optional: without one, the email names only the person who sent the invite.
Go to Settings → Users and enter an email address in the invite field. Only the owner sees the invite option.
The link stays valid for seven days. The recipient accepts by signing in or registering with the same address it was sent to.
If the email fails to send, the invite still stands and the view shows the invite link for you to copy. Send the link yourself in that case.
An owner invites and removes users, changes roles, and manages billing. A member handles all the content work: brands, social accounts, posts, AI, autopilot, and analytics. The Subscription tab is hidden from a member.
There can be more than one owner. The last owner can't be removed or demoted to member, so name another member owner first if you want to step down.
An empty company, with no other users or data, merges away once you accept the invite. A company with data or other users stays put and acceptance fails. The two cases give different reasons because the fix differs: with data, contact support; with other users, make one of them an owner first and accept the invite with a different login.
Each account belongs to one company at a time.
A removed user keeps their account and can still sign in, but ends up with no company. Access comes back with a new invite or a new company.
If the plan drops from Pro to Basic, nobody gets removed. Access is restricted by rank instead, owners first and then join order, and anyone past the limit gets access back as soon as the plan returns to Pro or the owner frees up a seat.
Analytics and comments
Your newest post's numbers are fetched from the platforms as soon as you open analytics. Older posts refresh less often because they barely change: posts under two days old every few hours, older ones once a day or less.
If you want the latest numbers right away, use the Refresh button in the analytics view. Next to it you can see when the numbers were last fetched. Posts older than three months are not fetched again, so their numbers don't change even with the Refresh button.
Visibility shows on every platform. It combines the best number each one gives: views on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, impressions on LinkedIn and X.
Reach means unique people, which is a different and usually smaller number. Facebook and Instagram only report it above 100 followers, and TikTok, YouTube and X don't report it at all. In those cases the field stays empty.
Engagement rate stays hidden until a post's visibility reaches 10. A percentage calculated from a handful of views swings too much to be useful.
Likes and comments always show, whatever the size of the account.
Comments from Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn appear on the Comments tab, grouped under the post, and you reply to them right there.
Comments are fetched in the background about once an hour and new ones trigger a notification. The Refresh button fetches the latest right away. The fetch covers posts from the last 30 days; comments on older posts no longer update.
X and TikTok comments can't be fetched. X's API is paid and only shows replies from the past week, and TikTok doesn't give comment access to regular apps.
If LinkedIn comments don't show, reconnect the account on the Accounts tab. Comment read access was added later, and older connections don't include it.
General Questions
Steadybeat is a social media tool for small and medium-sized businesses. Write your message once, add an image or video, and publish to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X and LinkedIn with one click.
Beyond publishing you get a calendar and scheduling, analytics from every channel in one view, comments in one place, and AI to help with texts, images and a whole content calendar.
Supported platforms:
• Facebook (Pages)
• Instagram (Business/Creator accounts)
• YouTube (channels)
• TikTok
• X (Twitter)
• LinkedIn (company Pages)
Yes. Write the post, pick a time, and it goes out on its own. The calendar view shows your scheduled posts and lets you move or edit them.
Finnish public holidays, seasons and marketing days are built into the calendar, so a Mother's Day post doesn't get forgotten.
The Best time to post section in analytics tells you when your Instagram followers are online and which times have earned you the most reactions.
The AI comes up with post ideas, writes finished posts per channel, creates images, and builds a whole content calendar from a theme you give it. It also reads your analytics and tells you what has worked.
Monthly limits: 50 AI texts and 20 AI images on Basic, 300 texts and 150 images on Pro. Limits reset at the start of each month. The AI content calendar is part of the Pro plan.
Everything it produces is a draft. You read and edit it before anything goes out.
Autopilot plans your week's posts for you every Sunday. You get your first week straight away, about fifteen minutes after you switch it on. You get a summary by email, and nothing publishes until you approve it. Suggestions you don't approve expire on their own.
You choose how many posts per week, which channels, and whether it uses your own images, AI images or both.
Autopilot is part of the Pro plan.
Basic includes one brand, Pro includes five.
Each brand has its own social accounts, its own images and its own hashtag groups. You switch brands at the top of the dashboard, and publishing, the calendar and analytics all follow the selected brand.
Use your own images or let the AI create them. The image library holds 100 of your own images per brand.
Every uploaded image is tagged and categorised automatically, so you can find it by searching. The same classification also guides which images the AI picks for posts.
Instagram only accepts aspect ratios between 4:5 and 1.91:1. If an image falls outside that, Steadybeat fits it automatically without cropping. Other channels get the original.
Basic is €19/month or €190/year, Pro is €49/month or €490/year. VAT of 25.5% is added. On an annual plan you pay for ten months and get twelve.
Basic includes 6 social accounts and one brand, Pro includes 30 accounts and five brands. The AI content calendar and autopilot are part of Pro.
You pay by card. An annual plan can also be paid by invoice: it is due in 14 days, but access opens immediately.
New users get a 14-day Pro trial with no card required. Every feature is available during the trial.
When the trial ends, publishing and the AI features lock. Your accounts, post history and images stay, and a subscription unlocks them again.
Go to Dashboard → Settings → Subscription and click Manage subscription. Cancelling, switching between Basic and Pro, switching between monthly and annual billing, updating your payment method and getting receipts all happen there.
A cancelled subscription runs to the end of the paid period. Your data stays after that too.
You can publish unlimited posts to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube. X (Twitter) is the exception: X charges social media tools for every post made through its API, so X posts are capped. The limit is 20 posts per month on Basic and 100 on Pro. Other channels don't count toward this limit, and it resets at the start of each month.
The channels that succeeded still published. In post history the row shows yellow or red, and the error tells you the reason per channel.
The Try again button in the error box republishes only the failed channels and doesn't create a new post. It works for seven days after the publishing attempt. After that the image or video is deleted from the server and the post has to be made again.
If the reason was an expired connection, reconnect the account on the Accounts tab first, then press the button.
For an Instagram aspect ratio error the button isn't shown, because the same image won't pass on a second attempt either. Edit the image to an accepted ratio (4:5–1.91:1) and publish again.
Facebook/Instagram connections are valid for about 60 days for security reasons. This is Meta's requirement, not a Steadybeat limitation.
Other platform connections also expire eventually, for example YouTube about every 6 months.
You'll be notified when your connection is expiring. Reconnect by clicking 'Reconnect' in the dashboard.
You can remove Steadybeat's access from Facebook settings:
1. Go to facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools
2. Find Steadybeat in the list
3. Click 'Remove'
After removal, Steadybeat cannot publish to your account until you reconnect.
You can remove Steadybeat's access from TikTok:
1. Open the TikTok app
2. Go to Profile → menu (≡) → Settings and privacy
3. Select Security and permissions → Manage app permissions
4. Find Steadybeat in the list
5. Tap the app and select 'Remove access'
After removal, Steadybeat cannot publish to your TikTok account until you reconnect.
Video is MP4 or MOV, up to 100 MB. Images are JPEG, PNG, GIF or WebP, up to 4 MB.
Video duration per channel:
• Facebook 3 s – 90 s (publishes as a Reel)
• Instagram 3 s – 15 min
• LinkedIn 3 s – 30 min
• TikTok 3 s – 10 min
• X up to 2 min 20 s
• YouTube no practical limit
Video publishes to all six channels. If you select several at once, the tightest limit applies, and Steadybeat warns you before publishing if the video is too long or too short for the channels you picked.
YouTube decides Shorts on its own: a vertical video under three minutes becomes a Short, and there is nothing for you to select.
Facebook, Instagram and TikTok publish video as vertical Reels. A landscape or square video gets cropped or letterboxed, so vertical works best for them.
Audio that is part of the video file works. If the music is already baked into the file, for example you added it while editing, it publishes with the video as normal.
You cannot pick a track from a platform's own music library through Steadybeat. TikTok sounds and Instagram or Facebook music stickers only work when you publish directly in the app. This comes from the platforms' licensing terms, and the limit applies to every scheduling tool, not just Steadybeat.
Keep copyright in mind too. If you embed protected commercial music in the video and publish through the API, the platform may mute or block it. Use royalty-free or self-licensed music instead.
If you want a trending platform sound, publish the video directly in the app.
